After a satisfyingly low-key pizzeria dinner in Rome last night, my wonderful traveling companion Beth left early this morning. I spent the morning working in the hotel, checked out and caught the next train to Florence. I had left my black truffle in the car, seeing no need to carry it around. The truffle smell had filled the car!
So tonight is my very first dinner alone in my apt EVER (after three years, oddly enough). I picked up some fresh ravioli to have with my grated black truffle, and some broccoli, steamed with shallots, garlic and prosciutto toscana, and threw on some local pecorino stagionato — of which Beth had bought an entire wheel at Self Service!
Now looking forward to spending some quality time with my village.
